They're a non-sexually-reproducing race, so 'parent' is probably the best word in English. You could use 'mother' but as they don't bear the child but reproduce via technological aid, that's not really appropriate. Neither is father in this case since Pearl did not use part of her own gem as the 'seed'. Thus 'parent' is all that really works in English, though maybe other languages have a better equivalent.

Probably also best to keep Mother for Rose as her and Steven are a special case and did work more or less the normal way.
Law of Parenting: When your kid is covered in something exceptionally gross, that is when they will want a hug.
