To anyone who's taken my replies to their comments on how none of this makes legal sense as in any way aggressive, sorry. It is simply that it annoys me how THAT is the thing people seem to want to focus in on and needle away at over anything else.
I am not a lawyer. I don't know all the fancy little intricacies of why this mess wouldn't hold up in court and never meant it to. This is just supposed to be a silly webcomic, with some incidents of drama that I can't really help slipping through.
Sorry again if I have seemed testy to anyone in any replies I have given. It simply feels like nobody can see passed those glaring faults I myself recognize and make fun of and just enjoy my webcomic when that is what most people seem to be focusing on.
I think after Jailbreak I will be taking a breather for a little while. I will be accepting Guest Comics to run after Jailbreak. Thank you for reading my silly little webcomic.
See you tomorrow, Wednesday.
You tried, Jake. You tried.
Just wanted to let you know how much I'm loving your comic. You bring so many fun interpretations to the characters and play with the original story. It's always exciting to see that a new comic has been uploaded.
I'm excited to see how this all gets resolved, and I hoep you enjoy a well-deserved break after it's done.
Side note: I really love Finn's line of "Your taste in friends really improved". such a perfect little diss.
Dude, it's a webcomic about fictional characters playing an RPG based on multiple sets of fictional characters. We don't know how the legal system of THAT world works. Heck (swear jar?), it might just be how things work in their gaming groups specifically. Just calm down and enjoy the show.
Edit: Ok, I saw one other person saying that. That's the sort of discussion, over world mechanics, that I enjoy though apparently our beloved Author does not.
For my part, I was just ravelling a thread, considering how it COULD work in broad strokes and building up a little head canon (I also didn't get the connection with Aangvanced quite right, but that's another matter).
Oh, and for what it's worth, I thought Rastaba did a pretty good job of hand-waving it in "Let us make a contract" (or whatever the title was), while also making it play on people's knowledge of the show with the victory conditions.
...as you can tell, I can be a little odd on these things myself, as well as prone to worrying about how I come off to others. I blame my OCD, regardless of whether or not that's actually the culprit. :P
On to this comic!
A good diss by Jake.
Hmm... any chance of getting a parody of "Stronger Than You" out of this? ;)
Repeat to yourself it's just a webcomic, I should really just relax!
It's Mystery Gem Theater Three Thousaaaaand!
To be honest this whole mary weers things bothers me in the comicsverse because it DOESN'T MAKE SENSE at all. and because it keeps getting brought up of how everything their doing is nice and legal somehow it's hard to not think about it.
II still enjoy the comics in spite of it but it's definitely hampering that.
thanks for the heads up about the break and i hope you enjoy it,
Eh, I've worked out a decent headcanon for it I think.
I think I might be the only one who used the phrase 'nice and legal'... Perhaps not the best choice of words, but I meant for the purposes of a yugioh-like universe.
Of course it doesn't make business sense, but if you check Aangvanced you'll find that in this Weers is motivated by some kind of revenge against her son and his friends, not money. She's losing money on the root deal behind all this.

...yeah I also had the YuGiOh world idea...
So if Weers is losing money in her Bitchyness, maybe she'll go bankrupt soon and this horrible reign of terror can end!

Dang, I really have no time to make a guest comic that looks even half decent, considering we're already to "Stronger then you".......
And here I actually had an idea for once.......
